솔뫼 한국학교는 1989년 볼티모어 한국 순교자 성당에서 설립되어 36년 동안 지역 사회의 한국어 교육을 담당해 왔습니다.
이민 4세대 속에 어우러져 살아가는 우리 2세들이 한국어와 문화·역사 교육을 통해 세대 간의 소통과 이해를 깊이 이루고,
나아가 한민족으로서의 자긍심을 지닌 훌륭한 인재로 성장하기를 소망합니다.

솔뫼 한국학교에서는 학생들이 한국어 실력을 향상시킬 뿐만 아니라, 한국의 문화적 유산과 저력을 배우고 체험하며
한국계 미국인으로서의 정체성을 확립할 수 있도록다양한 교육을 실시하고 있습니다.
모든 학급은 한국어 수업 외에도 서예, 종이접기, 한국역사와 이민역사, 태권도, 동요, 공예, 한국화, K-POP 등 특별활동 수업을 함께 이수합니다.
또한 가을운동회, 추석행사, 설날행사, 봄소풍, 현장학습 등 다양한 이벤트를 통해 직접 보고, 듣고, 만들고, 즐기는
체험 중심의 교육을 실천하고 있습니다.

전 세계적으로 다양한 분야에서 한국의 위상이 높아지고 있는 오늘날, 한국어와 한국 문화는 시간이 남아 배워도 되는 학문이 아니라
우리 후세들이 반드시 익혀야 할, 시대가 필요로 하는 우리의 정신이자 문화적 가치의 근간입니다.
이러한 바탕 위에서 학생들이 자신과 타인을 존중하며 풍요로운 삶을 가꾸고, 선한 영향력을 끼칠 수 있는 인재로 성장하기를 바랍니다.

Welcome to Solmei Korean School!

​

Founded in 1989 at the Holy Korean Martyrs Catholic Church in Baltimore, Solmei Korean School has been dedicated to providing Korean language and culture education to the local community for over 36 years.

We hope that our second-generation Korean American students, living and growing within the fourth generation of immigration, will deepen their understanding and communication between generations through the study of Korean language, culture, and history — and grow into individuals who take pride in their Korean heritage.

At Solmei Korean School, students not only improve their Korean language skills but also learn and experience the richness of Korean heritage and traditions. In addition to regular Korean classes, all students participate in various special activities such as calligraphy, origami, Korean history and immigration history, taekwondo, Korean songs, crafts, Korean painting, and K-POP.
Through events such as the Fall Sports Day, Chuseok Festival, Lunar New Year Celebration, Spring Picnic, and Field Trips, our school practices hands-on learning that allows students to see, listen, create, and enjoy.

In today’s world, where Korea’s presence is increasingly popular across many fields, the Korean language and culture are not optional subjects to learn only when time allows, but essential values and heritage that our future generations must embrace.
Through this foundation, we hope our students will learn to respect themselves and others, live fulfilling lives, and grow into individuals who can share kindness and positive influence in their communities.
